This book presents a series of five short stories, inspired by the reaction to and the effects that the COVID 19 pandemic brought with it. They explore how people react in different ways in times of crises; from a political stance at the top of the Government to the views on the street; the rag-tag bunch of ordinary and not so ordinary people. They also stretch back to times when pandemics were not so widely reported but were still as deadly, if not more so, than the recent event. The scale of world-wide lockdowns, mask-wearing and glove-donning preventative measures was unprecedented, and the differences of opinions and conflicting views it brought with it broke ties with families, friends and relatives. Quickly onto the scene were the conflicting scientific and political views that had one side of reason pitched against the other. It brought social media groups to loggerheads and the world’s hospitals to standstills. It separated the elderly from their support network and people watched from afar as their loved ones died alone.
